Bled Sovenia to Dubrovnik

My boyfriend and I are getting married in Bled in Slovenia this summer and then have three weeks in which to explore Slovenia %26amp; Croatia finishing up in Dubrovnik.

Whilst some relaxation will definitely be needed has anyone any suggestions on what is not to be missed on a whistle stop tour of the two countries ?

Fancy hotels and restaurants not to be missed that can only be justified because its our honeymoon would also be a plus !

Congratulations and WOW - 3 weeks! I am not sure I can give you specific hotles to stay - we usually stayed in apartments. We have traveled from Louisiana to Croatia 5 times since 2000 and been in Slovenia 3 of those times. Part depends on what you like - seeing things, doing things, or just relaxing.

What I loved:

SLOVENIA

Bled

Bohinj

Moribor

CROATIA

Istria - Porec, Rovinj, Pula

Dalmatia - Trogir, Split, Hvar, Korcula, Dubrovnk

Zagreb

Parks - Krka, Plitvice

There are lots of places to see and things to do. I loved the Lipicca stud farm - especially after seeing the spanish Riding School in Vienna - but may not be your thing.

What is or was the date of your wedding. I would be interested to hear about it. We are going to Bled on 21st August for one week to celebrate our anniversary.

Wedding was 21 July last year and was amazing but I%26#39;m sure everyones is. The 21st was the day of the Bled festival when 10,000 candles are lit on the lake at 10pm and there is a fireworks display at midnight. Having the reception in the Castle meant we had a fantastic view and a brilliant night which finished up at 5.30am so we definitely made a night of it! Last year from Bled travelled to Bovec and stayed in Dobra Vila - fantastic - then Hotel Piran again such a nice hotel with an amazing balcony overlooking the sea and then Ljubljana to Antiq Hotel which is a quirky hotel in a fantatic location but without proper aircon quite hot! Since last year have been back to Slovenia for two weeks. In Bled stayed in Hotel Berc - absolutely fantastic place which I cannot recommend highly enough. Its really central and small enough to feel like home for the few days you are there and wow the breakfast - I%26#39;ve stayed in 5* hotels around the world that can%26#39;t compete. Also stayed in the following all of which I%26#39;d recommend - Ljubljana - Hotel Emonec, Medana - Klinec, Pension Raduha in Luce (Logar Valley), and Brenholc in Jeruzalem.

Hope you have a fantasic time in Bled !
