Travel in May

We will be spending about 10/11 days in Croatia next May, 3rd week into the last week of May. We will ferry over from Venice, rent a car and drive down to Dubrovnik and hopefully see a couple islands.

Will we need to have all of our rooms booked before we go or will we find plenty of places with vacancies? I do plan to book a room in Rovinj for a couple nights since the ferry gets in a little late in the evening. Anything else you can suggest would be appreciated.

Dress code... how should we pack for this trip?

We live in southern usa and I am used to wearing shorts and polo shirts in the warm weather, should I pack a couple pair of jeans?

Booking for May is not required unless you are particular about some aspect of your room--there should be plenty of availability in most places.

Dress code depends on what you are doing--I have visited in May and it can be quite variable--from 90s during day to quite chilly at night. Think layers and then check the weather forecast websites the week before to fine tune your packing.

thanks, not a lot of formal siteseeing...driving the coast, stopping a night or two, walking the towns, visiting a couple islands and beaches, really just a good old fashioned lazy holiday enjoying the sites.

We like to dress casual, easier to pack. What do the Croatians consider casual dress??

dress code is no different in cro than other places , it all depends on the weather .

late may is when the sea temperature starts to rise up to 23 degres and it should not be below 20 outside at nights .
