Booking Blue Line Ferry ahead

We%26#39;re planning to ferry from Split to Ancona via Blue Line (with car) at 21:00 on Sept 12. Do we need to book onine ahead? Or is it safe to buy tickets in Split earlier that evening? And ... if it%26#39;s best to book ahead - how soon should I get it done? Our schedules aren%26#39;t iron-clad as yet and i am hoping for some flexiblity.

thanks

try this site and ask if there is a need....the argument is will you be inconvenienced if you miss the boat. Nothing wrong with jadrolina so check that as well.

Thanks Mausgrass for your reply and this good link. However - I read all through the site as well as the whole Blue Line site - and find no indication that you can purchase tickets at the dock ... when or where. I did read that you need to have them when you check in two hours prior to boarding / loading (with car).

We are planning to go Blue Line because - at the moment - they are the only line sailing from Split to Ancona on 9/12 and we need to be in Italy on the 13th.

Does anyone know if you can just show up at the docks 3-4 hrs prior and still get tickets? Or do I need to order them online ahead to be assured a spot with a vehicle?

Thanks!

You can book them online from the Blue Line website or if you are not fussy about a cabin you can go to the ticket desk at the port and purchase the tickets there.

Thanks Balkan Addict - that helps. Sounds good. I am mostly concerned re: timing ... our plans are not definite so I am hoping I can still get tickets the same day we sail ... kind of last minute (3 - 4 hrs prior) ... instead of booking online ahead. We plan to drive from Dubrovnik to Split earlier the same day ... but we need flexibility in case our schedule changes. Thanks!
