What is the best to travel from Split to Dubrovnik without a car? I%26#39;d prefer to take the train but read somewhere that the bus is a more reliable option. Thoughts please

If walking or cycling is ruled out than bus it for ...or travel in style and float.( train to Dubrovnik is always very late )

Hello PaulFurlong due to the mountainous terrain buses are by far the better way to go .The main bus station in split is opposite the ferry terminal.tickets can be bought on the day and the ticket office staff speak English. they only accept Croatian Kunas no euro, sterling,US dollars.there is a bureau de change next door to the ticket office so changing money is not a problem.

cheers mate. any idea how long the journey usually takes? are there lots of buses every day? btw, i%26#39;m going in mide-Sept. thanks in advance

Since there is no train, the best option is to take the bus and it should take four plus hours.

Were some of those answers ironic - there is no train between Split and Dubrovnik? Buses are excellent and loads of them - about 20 a day in season. Go on the Split bus station website, put in your date of travel and it will come up with a full list of buses on that day, companies that run them and the bus stand they leave from. You can see how long they take to judge which one you get (ideally the quickest!) Buy your ticket in the bus station before you get on the bus. Sit on the right for great views of the Adriatic. Have your passport available as you have to show it at the Bosnian border.
www.ak-split.hr/EN/vozni.red/index.html This link takes you into the Timetable bit in English and you can click on the left for departures from Split or arrivals to Split (then you can work out a return journey if you need to).
I have used this website several times and it has always been accurate.

And finally shake (no stir). When buying a ticket to Dubrovnik ask for the window seat at the right (extremely right)side.
Do opposite going opposite.
