Miljanic apartments - Cavtat

Hi

Ive had several PMs lately asking me about our stay here - generated by the pics I have posted re Cavtat. I thought it might be useful to post my last response

We loved our stay at the appartments. I think the apartments may vary slightly - they also have rooms within the building .The one we stayed in had a mezzanine floor - with double bed and wardrobe - the air con unit was up here and worked well. Very clean throughout. Downstairs there is a very basic kitchenette - ok for breakfast ,snacks and drinks but not really suitable for cooking a full meal. There is also a sofa which converts to a bed , TV and separate shower and loo. Small balcony - with table and chairs overlooking the smaller harbour, lovely unrestricted views. Cavtat itself is lovely - lots of restaurants to eat out with varying prices and a few bars . There are also two / three good restaurants in the hills behind Cavat. The larger harbour - Marina area attracts some fab boats. There are several different swimming spots all around the penisulas -- great for walking/ jogging, the beaches are stone which means clear sea - ( No real sand beaches anywhere in this area of Croatia although there are some sandy beaches on nearby islands) The best feature of the Miljanic appts is that they are extremely well located , central and at sea level , the resort of Cavtat is very hilly and much ( not all) of the other apartment accomodation is not as central and up on the hillsides. It is easy to get to Dubrovnilk - bus or water ( approx 40mins). There are several tour agencies in village so it is easy to book onto tours if thats what you want. ( We went on a white water rafting trip - brilliant day out ) Also car and boat hire in Cavtat itself. There is some, limited shopping. All in all I am glad we chose Cavtat rather than Dubrovnik as our base.

The owners of the Miljanic are lovely - no problem paying the deposit up front - they collected and took us back to the airport. Our son stayed with us , deciding at the last minute , which meant that he was on a different flight - this was no problem and they took him to the airport for us after we left . There is a bar below the apartment - mostly used by people staying and some locals - closed about 12pm - no noise issues at all. In fact much of Cavtat - closes around 12pm although a few bars stay open longer.

Overall Cavtat is a low key resort - with good access to Dubrovnik -if you want nightlife/ shopping maybe its not for you. The Miljanic is not luxury - but clean, good air con, nice owners and fab location.

I would definately stay there again.
