Crossing border with food

I will be travelling to Croatia on saturday from the EU (the Czech Republic). I know that at the beginning of the summer, the Croatians banned bringing any kind of food from the EU (even a sandwich for your journey) across the border. However, they were talking about changing this policy as there was an outcry (particularly from the Czechs who often take their own food with them when visiting there). Does anyone have any information about the latest policy?

It is allowed now but I believe just for the certain period until our government figures out how to handle that EU regulation.

Besides, it is ok to ban food import since we are the ONLY country that allows that and that hurts our economy (already not in good shape). We end up with litter with no economic benefit...

Thank you for that information. I%26#39;m not Czech, and don%26#39;t want to get involved in the polititcs of food importing. However, I have food allergies, so it is important to know I can bring special food with me which is difficult to find in smaller places such as the islands I am planning to visit.
