Can anyone tell me if you can do day trips to
Mostar and Kotor by public transport please? The posts I have seen recommend hiring a car or staying over-night but neither are an option for me.
Wikitravel.org says a daily bus operates from Dubrovnik to Kotor at 1030am, and back %26quot;around 5-6pm%26quot; but i can%26#39;t find anything about this - can anyone help please? Thanks!

Have you thought about taking an organized trip to both of these places?

Hi Barry, I would prefer to have the freedom to choose where to spend the time I have there but if I%26#39;ll don%26#39;t find an alternative I will probably take a guided tour.
Do you have any recommendations for a tour? I%26#39;ve found 2 with Atlas and 1 with Viator, would anyone recommend any of these?
Also I have found a bus to Herceg-Novi, is it worth going there for a day trip?

Ms Jelly-- I am reseaching the very same thing myself and information from the Libertas website helps out. Look at the following link which has Dubrovnik departures and arrivals to/from Mostar and Kotor. Departures for Mostar are at 8,13:00 etc and arrivals from Mostar are at 15:00 and 21:00. Departures and arrivals to Kotor are more rare--- only on certain days.

Thanks for the link Kati! I was looking for the timetables but I think I bypassed that site because I thought it was all in Croatian.
If I am reading it correctly, Mostar sould be possible in a day - the bus leaves at 8am and if the journey is 3 hours you arrive approx 11am. If the bus arrives back in Dubrovnik at 9pm, I assume it leaves Mostar around 6pm. So that would give you 7 hours there... that sounds doable to me! (Though 6 hours travelling for 7 hours visit is a lot...)

7 hours in Mostar would be a good amount of time to wander around and see the bridge and do a bit of shopping and maybe even have a meal. Sounds like a good plan to me. Mostar is a wonderful place to visit!

My thinking was the same--- leave Dubrovnik at 8 and return at 9--- leaving an afternoon in Mostar. I think the ride on the bus itself is supposed to be pretty nice--- bring your passport of course! And when you come back, will you report how the excursion was?

Thanks for the advise on Mostar Katie %26amp; Barry. I%26#39;ll let you know how I get on if we go. (We%26#39;re not going for another few weeks but I%26#39;m planning for it already because I%26#39;m really looking forward to going!)

My boyfriend and I have stayed in Mostar and Montenegro because he hired a car but my friends went to Dubrovnik last year and they went on a bus tour to Montenegro and really enjoyed it, it visted Kotor, Budva and Sveti Stefan and they felt other than Sveti Stefan they had a nice look round Kotor and Budva.

Thanks for the info Linda! Its good to know they had enough time to see Kotor and Budva. I%26#39;ll look into the tours to see if there is one that goes just to those places if you don%26#39;t get time to see Sveti Stefan properly.
