weather in Sept is usually nice - we will have temperatures in the 90%26#39;s (cc 35 Celsius) this weekend. For beach holiday look for islands like Vis or Hvar. For villas look on the properties on Peljesac. It would be best to find local agency that can create a package for you and to give you answers to all your accommodation questions. Contact me if you need help

Birds,

Since you have some time I would search the boards on here for places like Vis, Hvar, Korcula, Brac, Bol, Makarska, and Dubronvnik. Each place is a little different, but all are wonderful. I would certainly put in a strong word for Vis, but it is a quaint and quiet island. Hvar, on the other hand is more touristy. Brac (particularly Bol) and Makarska have several resort-type options which may be what you decide you want. As for villa vs. hotel, we stayed in both types in various locations; I think you have to pick your location and look for the options in that area. You should have good options in both villas and hotels. I would be able to give you specific help on Brac, Vis, and Dubrovnik if you are interested. Good luck!
