Hello, We have just returned from a fantastic 9 nts in Trogir/Seget area. We walked along promenade (take care with small children as no railings.) to Medena. They were doing maintenance work on giant water slide in sea. No amusement parks as such but you will find playground/swings. Many families with small children at Krka waterfall National Park (a must see). Easily done by hire car (park Stradinski Buk) and that fall easily do-able with wooden walkways and lots of interesting flora and fauna (hundreds of kingfisher blue dragonflies) Boat trips on river worthwhile. We stayed for ã20 total at Krka Camping (Losovac just up from Skradin) in studio. We called at Primosten on way back - very pretty with larger access to sea bathing from pebble beach. Very nice. Lovely area, but nice and quiet mid-May. Ice creams in many flavours at 50p a time in Trogir - delicious! Kids seem to like the Fort there which has lovely views if you can make it to the top! Enjoy!!!!

hello Loujo,
My wife and I have just returned from a two week holiday at the medena hotel, seget, trogir. 14th - 26th of June 2006.
We booked an upgraded room specificaly for the airconditioning, however, this did not work for the total stay despite being reported everyday for the first week. The staff did not appreciate our complaints and were most uncooperative and at times rude. If you do book the medena don%26#39;t pay for extras. The hotel is very basic in every respect apart from its location which is stunning. Trogir itself is well worth a days visit but overall this is not a good base for seeing the area as transport is very poor. The islands becon but getting to them is not easy. Amusement parks are not a feature in this area. In common with most other travellers, I cannot recommend a stay at the medena hotel.
Good luck bill,

I%26#39;m a Trogir local and I myself wouldn%26#39;t recommend staying at a hotel of any kind, I%26#39;d much more recommend staying at a private apartment which is like a hotel except with a few rooms and is much more better because you%26#39;re pretty much living the life of a Trogirian. Beaches are usually near these private apartments and they are all friendly and will give you rides and what not.

Hi Loujo-
My family and i are going to be traveling to Croatia in September. WE fly in from Rome on a Sunday evening and will spend 3 nights in Split and then rent a car and drive to Dubronik for another 3 nights. I was told that Trogir was worth a visit, but not sure what day to arrange a visit . We were planing on spending Monday (or one of our full days) in Hvar, which we will hopefully get to by ferry or private tour.
We will then have one more full day while in Split becuase on Wednesday we would leave for Dubrovnik by car which I believe we are picking up back at the airport. On this Wednesday morning after picking up the car at the airport, could we feasibly squeeze in a trip to Trogir before heading to Dubrovnik (we would like to get to Dubrovnik late afternoon). However, my concern is that there are no cars allowed in Trogir, so where would we park (with all our luggage in the car).
Or should we try to see Trogir on the remaining full day in Split (by taking the bus which I understand leaves Split every 1/2 hour), and split our day into 1/2 day in Trogir and 1/2 day in Split so we can see Diocletians Palace. Also, how long is the drive from Split to Trogir?
Thanks for any comments you can provide

Hi dizzyliz
In answer to your question, I would suggest you go for the half day in split, half day in trogir option.
A whole day would be better in split for visiting the palace, but to try and fit in Trogir and travel to Dubrovnik, i think you would find a tight schedule, and you would probably not reach your destination until early evening at least.
The buses are a little unreliable from split to trogir, and whatever you do, don%26#39;t get a taxi as they seem to rip you off.
A better bet would be to check the boat times from the harbour as these are not only quite cheap, but much more comfortable and picturesque. Should you get friendly with any of the locals, most are more than happy to run you about for a small fee. I hope this helps.

Hello,
You don’t have rent a car for these 3 days in Split; on Sunday you’ll be in AP at 7 PM, after every flight there is a Croatia-airlines bus which takes you to the city harbor /30 minutes drive – 30 Kuna/; on Monday take a ferry Split-Starigrad /Hvar/ then take a bus to Hvar; on your way back do the same thing; on Tuesday go to Trogir – don’t take a city bus N°37 /long drive, high prices/ - from the city harbor there is a bus of Posa company /I think at 12, but check it out/ or any bus directed to Zadar, Sibenik, Rijeka or Zagreb/ you’ll pay cca 12-15 Kuna /30 minutes drive/ and drop off in Trogir; there is a third possibility – on the bus stop “Jugoplastika” take one of the taxi mini buses /8 pax/ the price is cca 15 Kuna, 40 minutes drive; on Wednesday rent a car on the city harbor Split and then to Dubrovnik /you could take a bus – check the time tabe www.ak-split.hr/
As regards Trogir there is a paying car park in the entrance close to the first bridge; you can’t drive through the city center but you can do it around, so you can park on peninsula Ciovo after the second bridge;
I hope this helps

The only question is were could I rent a motorbyke in Split? The wife%26#39;s all about riding it.
Thanks again!

Hi,
I am not sure about the motorbikes, but you can rent a scooter in Tourist Office on Riva - Obala Hrvatskog Preporoda street, N° 12; you need a drive licence %26quot;B%26quot;; the price is about 250 or 260,00 Kuna/day
bye
