suitable footwear

hi, can someone tell me if you can wear heels in Dubrovonik, are the streets cobblestone, would it be better to wear flat shoes?

I think flat shoes are best, the streets are cobble and very shiny so for comfort I went for flat

Yes, they are very shiny...many of the women will wear heals especially when dressed up, however, the stones are a bit slick. I found myself sliding more than a few times in flat sandals.

thanks for that, i think i will go with flat shoes then

Heels would not be good on the City walls and if it rains the stone of the pavements is so worn smooth that it is lethal.

do not wear heels

the streets are not so much cobblestoned as tiled. There are shiny tiles inside the old town - it is flat but I would imagine quite slippy with heels on, especially if it rains.

Dubrovnik is a very very casual place - there really is no need to get dressed up to the nines there - only if you want.
