Zagreb-Plitvice-Zadar by bus

I am wondering how long it would take to take a bus from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes NP, and about how much it would cost. After a night at Plitvice, we want to continue to Zadar; once again, does anyone know how long and how expensive (roughly) that trip would cost?

Also, are the bus stops in convienient places (i.e. near the park entrance, accommodation, etc.) around Plitvice? Thanks for any information you might have.

Bus stops are in convenient places, at the national park entrances, near the hotels.

The bus journey from Zagreb to Plitvice lasts a little less than 3 hours. The price (one-way ticket) would be about 15 euros.

Bus ride from Plitvice to Zadar would cost you approximately 20 euros, and about 3 more hours.

Thank you very much! You have just saved me a lot of time and confusion, your quick response is much appreciated...

When do buses leave to go to Plitvice? Do they only go in the morning or do they go throughout the day? Can you buy the ticket the day of or do you need to book ahead of time?

Would you recommend taking the bus versus renting a car?

Thanks!

There are buses throughout the day, approximately every 30 minutes.

You don%26#39;t need to book ahead, I only suggest to avoid weekends if possible. However, the worst thing that can happen during weekends is that you%26#39;ll have to wait for another bus, for half an hour. I used to travel to the seaside by bus for years before I had a car, and I never booked the ticket in advance.

If we are leaving Zagreb in the early morning, does anyone know if it would be possible to see Plitvice during the day and then leave on a bus at the end of the day to move on to Zadar?

It seems the buses are quite frequent from what others have posted, but I have been having trouble finding exact info.

Would we be able to book the Plitvice - Zadar portion of our trip from the Plitvice bus terminal?

thank you!!

we visited zagreb, the lakes and zadar as part of an organised tour. It takes 3 hours to get to the lakes from zagreb. We visited the lakes as soon as the park opened at 8.30am, walked the upper and lower falls with the boat trip in between, stopped for lunch and were still in Zadar by 2pm (ready for our guided tour of the town) so absolutely do-able in one day.
