Am I Crazy????

For those of you that are familiar with Eastern Europe let me know if you think I am crazy. Next June, my wife and I are planning on flying into Munich from the states to tie up w/ our college son who will be finishing a semester of study. We have never traveled eastern Europe, so are thinking of seeing Munich, S. Germany countryside, then off to Prague, Budapest, and Droubrvnik, and doing this in a 2 weeks span. Is this feasible w/ the travel distances we will encounter? If dropping a site off of our list, which would you drop?

It is probably a bit much.

It may help to write it all down day by day and look at your transport options--right off I%26#39;d cut Dubrovnik, as that would require a flight or a time-sucking trek. Even travel within limited areas usually eats at least half a day.

Three days per place is a good rule of thumb, and there are may be places worth exploring near Prague and Budapest.

5 S. Germany

8 Prague

How do you plan on traveling from place to place? I love the places you are looking at, but not sure it would be feasible if you are driving or taking the bus or train.

I travel alot and mostly solo. When I do travel with someone, I try and explain to them when you change towns or countries abroad you lose a whole day. They sometimes question me, however they understand when their there. So, everytime you pack your suitcase and board a train or caryou end up losing that day or most of it. Enjoy. Linda

I did 4 Central European cities in 2 weeks all via train because they were close together (krakow, prague, budapest, vienna). I think Dubrovnik is a bit far on this list and you would be better served doing another city closer to the ones you%26#39;ve chosen. I opted to do Dubrovnik on a different trip this year with the rest of Croatia.

For what you have listed Vienna might be a convenient option or a spa town in Czech Republic.
