day trip to plitvice??

Am planning a holiday to Croatia and originally we intended to stay about a week in Trogir and then a few days somewhere on hand for Plitvice.

Then, I read in a hotel review that the reviewer had gone to Plitvice on a day%26#39;s excursion from Trogir.

Does anyone who has been to one or both of these places have a view?? Is it do-able/ is one day enough in Plitvice/ or is it much better to move and make it a 2 centre holiday? Thanks!

I think that a day at Plitvice is enough time to see what you need to see. It might be a long day, but well worth it because Plitvice is beautiful.

It can be done. The drive to Plitvice from Trogir is about 2 hours. However, it would make for a long day if you want to see both the upper and lower lakes at Plitvice. The estimated time to hike both lakes is about 5 hours. Also, the park can get pretty crowded with tours, so that can add time.

I was there a few weeks ago and did the upper lakes in the early morning (we caught the first tram at 8 am from the entry by the Hotel Jezero to the top and hiked down to the center boat crossing). That took us from 8 am to 11:30 am. It probably could have been done an hour little faster, but I love photography so I kept stopping to shoot. (I have to add that one of the things I loved about the morning hike was that we were in the park before most of the tours arrived and were not surrounded by a lot of people.)

In the afternoon, I took the tram to the bottom stop and hiked up from the lower lakes. That was approximately 1:30 to 4:30, which included having to wait for boats to cross to a park exit. It was significantly more crowded at that time than in the morning.

Thank you for the helpful info about travel times from Trogir, how long it takes to really see Plitvice and how great it is to be there from early in the morning. All of this makes me think it%26#39;s worth having a couple of nights in a hotel there.

Is the walking easy or not? I ask because I am suffering damage to the peripheral nerves in my feet as a result of chemotherapy treatment, so walking needs to be fairly easy. Thanks again!
