Dubrovnik and Split for 5 days

we are heading to Dub and Split for 5-6 days at the end of September. We plan on going to Kotor for a day trip and Mostar. We also want to take at least one ferry to Hvar. Ive heard that we can see Split ( the palace ) in a day. Any suggestions on whether to take a ferry to split from dubrovnik or go by bus via Mostar. Will 2 full days and 3-4 nights be sufficient for Dubrovnik? Should we go via ferry to Rejika and hit Istria or spend more time in Dalmatia? We are looking for more sightseeing and scenery. nightlife is secondary but welcomed

thanks for any help

I would say that your timing is good, in respect to 2-3 days in Dubrovnik. You may want to stick to Dalmatia however. The ferry from Dubrovnik to Split is extremely long (I believe it goes through Hvar). You will want to check the schedule to see if it is too long for you. The bus from Split to Dubrovnik is no picnic either (about 4 hours) and we did not go via Mostar, we went direct. Split can certainly be done in a day, and from Split you can get a ferry to all fo the major islands in Dalmatia (Brac, Hvar, Vis) and Korcula is easiest to get to via ferry from Dubrovnik.

The ferry ride is lovely from Dub to Split but takes all day and doesn%26#39;t run every day either. The bus ride is half the time (same price) and you get lovely views as well. The ferry does go to Korcula and Hvar before Split so you could combine.
