Never Been need Advice

We are a family of 3, with a 8 year old daughter. Thinking about holidays for 2009 and considering Croatia. Where would be the best place to go?Looking for a beach holiday but with some kind of entertainment at night, something to amuse our daughter. Any tips on area, hotels etc. would be appreciated. Also how expensive is it once you are there? Travelling from Scotland so would be exchanging sterling.

Most Croatia beaches are pebbles or course sand so no sand castles. You may like to try the Bluesun Hotel Bonaca on Brac Island. It is all-inclusive and has a kids club although mainly based on the German kids. As an older couple we liked it, the rooms were good an the staff excellent.

Basicaly you fly into Split then take a catamaran ferry across to the island, a trip in its own right. I think Thomson have it in their brochure.

Try Cavtat just outside Dubrovnik as it seemed popular with %26#39;Poms%26#39; and has a laid back sea side.

How long will you be in Croatia? I%26#39;m assuming you%26#39;re looking at summer vacation?

For entertainment for kids, for example, I wouldn%26#39;t say there%26#39;s a lot here in terms of organised entertainment.

However, Croatia is so safe, most people just take their kids out at night (even up until midnight!)in coastal cities and just walk around looking at any stalls, eat ice-cream, listening to any free concerts.

It%26#39;s so hot during the day, people often go swimming in the mornings, stay in/nap during the hottest afternoon hours, then up again at night. Often, things close down in the afternoon and open back up in the night time and close late.

Most tourists head to places in Dalmatia and Istria so start looking there. You could also take in one of the Dalmatian islands.
