Split to Makarska

HI, I am off to Croatia this weekend and was looking to do a day trip to Makarska as I have heard a lot about it...Is it possible to do a day trip from Split..leaving early in the morning and coming back to Split in the evening?

Hello,

YES, definitely. It takes 1,5h from Split to Makarska by bus, and there is more then enough of it connecting both places.

You can get the bus from the Marina in Split into the bus station at Makarska which is about 2-3 minutes walk away for the Marina and beaches there. Cost about £5 to £5.50 each way depending on company and exchange rate. Dead easy with plenty of busses. If you are staying in Split - don%26#39;t forget to go to Trogir. You can go by bus from Split - it is only 6 km from the airport - don%26#39;t know how that translates in travelling time from Split - probably about half an hour. Well worth a visit for a couple of hours

Though a day trip to Makarska sounds like a good plan, it might also be of interest to you to head out to one of the islands instead. Look into a day trip to Bol or Hvar. I liked Makarska, but I would much rather spend some time out on the islands.

Yeah. Wouldn%26#39;t necessarily argue with that. Makarska is a nice place to stay but it is really only worth and hour or so as a visit. Didn%26#39;t do the islands so can%26#39;t comment on that.
