cruise versus 1 week in Dubrovnik

I am planning a trip to eastern Europe in Sept 2009 %26amp; have 1 week in which to see some of Croatia. I do not want to spend the week frantically driving so have decided on 2 alternatives 1) get a small boat cruise from Venice which goes to Dubrovnik with stops at Split, Hvar, Korcular, Mljet or 2) fly Venice to Dubrovnik, rent an appartment for the week %26amp; do day trips from there.Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Unless there is anything new for 2009 you will not be able to fly directly from Venice to Dubrovnik. With only a week I would look seriously at the cruise if you want to see a selection of places.

definitely the cruise! Although Dubrovnik is lovely, the cruise itinerary is great!

Thanks for the quick response.Do you know of or recommend any cruises? We are 50 %26amp; 53 %26amp; still fit %26amp; active so do not want to be surrounded by 80yr olds. We usually hire a car %26amp; do our own thing when in Europe but Croatia does not seem the easiest to get around. I know of people who have visited %26amp; complained afterwards that they spent most of their holiday in the car. The boats Monet %26amp; Le Levant are two that I have seen but first hand knowledge would be great.

Thanks
