Staying around Dubrovnik - Cavtat?

Hi All,

I%26#39;ll be staying in or around Dubrovnik the second week of September. It seems that Cavtat is a lovely place to stay - not too crowded, but not quiet, and easy to get to Dubrovnik.

Does anyone have recommendations for sobes, apartments, B%26amp;Bs, or hotels? I%26#39;ll be there by myself, so something small is fine. I%26#39;d like to be close to the sea and close to the old town (doesn%26#39;t everyone)?

Is there somewhere I should consider other than Cavtat? If yes, where?

thanks!

you have Hotel Croatia (expensive), hotel Cavtat (mid ranger) and Hotel Supertar (reasonable) all by the harbour in Cavtat.

Cavtat is fab.

We visited Cavtat for a day trip from Dubrovnik (about 30 mins each way by boat). It depends on what you mean by %26quot;not quiet%26quot; but I felt we saw Cavtat in the few hours we were there.

There is a nice but small beach, and a few shops and restaurants around the harbour. If you want a few days to unwind great but if you want to explore further you may often find yourself going to Dubrovnik first.

If you want to be close to the old town and the sea there are a number of apartments that overlook Dubrovnik - Ploce I think is the area.

ya, you can see the old town of cavtat in one day - but it is the perfect place to stay and base yourself - not as busy as dubrovnik, totally laid back and relaxed - just paradise.

ploce is one one area of Dubrovnik - on one side you have the Plock gate going into the old town - on the other side you have the Pile Gate.

You can see old town dubrovnik in one day as well. personally I prefer Cavtat - more laid back, and you can get all the excursions that you get from Dubrovnik.

Old town dubrovnik can get quite busy with tourists.

believe me, if you take the boat from dubrovnik to Cavtat and your first sighting of Cavtat will stay with you forever - I thought I was in heaven.

Hi

My husband and I are just back from Cavtat and it was lovely. Only down side was the walk to the apartment every day - up a very, very steep hil. Lots of lovely small apartments around but mostly up from the harbour as we found out. I did take the name of 2 hotels that were on the harbour front that we may go back to next year - IBEROSTAR and SUPERTAR Hotel. Both are 3 star and look lovely. Food and people lovely and the place itself is very picturesque. Easy bus ride to Dubrovnik and other small towns round about for £1.20 and buses run to 12mn. Hope you enjoy

Iberostar is the name of the Company that owns the hotel. I think the hotel you are talking about is Hotel Cavtat. Hotel Supetar is a lovely small hotel too on the harbour - it is a sister to the Hotel Croatia - it does not have many facilities but if you stay here you can use the facilities of the Croatia Hotel (5 star). There is also the Albatross Hotel which is part of the Iberostar group, but this is up the back of the other hotels.
