Hi -
I will be in Dubrovnik for one day while the cruise ship is in port. I%26#39;m very interested in walking the wall, but wonder if its better to do a shore excursion with a tour guide and get driven to various area, or can you see just as much wandering at your own pace on foot?

Actually, you can do both if you get a private driver/guide and depending on the area you want to visit. You can have a private tour of Cavtat and Konavle region or a private wine tour of Peljesac. That way you get to see more of the area but you can still be back in time to walk the wall and visit the Old Town.
If doing a group shore excursion, then Cavtat and Konavle would be my choice.
