I%26#39;m a solo female traveler, heading to Croatia next month (from NYC). My flight will arrive in Dubrovnik late afternoon on Oct. 9th, and I am flying out early morning on the 19th. Looking for best ways to get around and from 1 place to the next without a car, but without killing too many days in transit. Also, how far in advance should I book my ferry to/from Hvar? Finally, would LOVE to meet up with any other solo travelers or locals who would like to share a real local experience or show me around - I love the real cultural experience of traveling.
My itinerary looks roughly like this (but is flexible, outside of the limited ferry schedule this time of year):
Oct 9 - arrive in Dubrovnik late afternoon, stay in sobe or hostel 1 night
Oct 10 - ferry (Marco Polo) to Hvar
Oct 11-12 - stay in Hvar, possibly 1 day to Korcula (if possible?)
Oct 13 - ferry back to Dubrovnik, stay in sobe or hostel 1 night
Oct 14 - travel to Montenegro (where is best to stay, relatively easy to get to?)
Oct 15-16 explore Montenegro
Oct 17 - return to Dubrovnik, explore the city
Oct 18 - explore Dubrovnik (or day trip out? suggestions?)
Oct 19 - return to NYC
Anyone have any sobe recommendations in these areas? Looking for clean, quiet, safe, walking distance to main areas. Anything I should skip here, or add? Any other advice regarding transportation or other little notables in the places on my list? Thanks everyone for your help!

Everything is possible, of course. In fact you don%26#39;t need to plan it to much, you can just go and decide at the moment when you%26#39;re there. I have only a few doubths about %26quot;exploring Montenegro%26quot;. It%26#39;s not a city, it%26#39;s a state. Not vety large, but always a state. You should take a look and see which places of Montenegro are reachable from Dubrovnik and how long the trip is. Just to make sure that you will have enough time to see something without lossing the bus or ferry.

Hello tamerlano77, thanks for replying. I thought I could be less planned on this trip, until I realized the ferry from Dubrovnik to Hvar was less frequent in October. So that part of my itinerary has now been planned around the ferry schedule to still allow me time to get to Montenegro. I haven%26#39;t really figured that part of my trip out yet, so I%26#39;ve left it general and open, hoping someone can make some recommendations (based on my limited transportation to and within the country). So if you have any ideas, I%26#39;d love to hear them. Thanks for your help!
