I know in some countries its best to call for a taxi rather than take those that tout for customers on the street. Is this the case in Dubrovnik?
I am supposed to arrive on a bus from Trogir and will need to get to my rental apartment in Ploce. With my luggage I am thinking a bus may not be a good option.
Is there a taxi service that is recommended or should I just find a taxi when I arrive.
Thanks.

I would definately recommend a taxi vs. a bus from the station to Ploce. I cannot remmeber how much we spent, but there are many taxis waiting and I would just ask 2 for the cost to Ploce and take the cheapest. From what I saw, everyone will be very fair. I wouldnt worry about using a particular one, although I am sure some people may have a recommendation for you.

do a search on the internet for taxi and transfer in Dubrovnik and you may make the reservation right now.

I didn%26#39;t get the feeling that was the case in Dubrovnik. Me and my friend both called for taxis and got into the ones in the street.
As a visitor you want to be on the safe side, but I would not be worried. From the airport you should always be informed about prices first.
In any country taxi drivers might try to rip you off if you don%26#39;t ask for the estimated total cost.
