Ferry from Dubrovnik to SPlit?

Can anyone advise if this is a good use of 8 hours? What is there to see on this trip or should we take a short half day boat trip from Dubrovnik to see some of the surrounding islands? We will arrive in Dubrovnik on Monday 22nd Sept so would like some ideas as we only have a one week holiday

Use the short half day boat! The best to see is when you are in the city.

as you have only one week I suggest to spend it in Dubrovnik and do the trip to Korcula or Mljet; Split is 240 km away from Dubrovnik and if you want to visit it take the bus www.ak-split.hr

the busis defo the best way to get from dubrovnik to split. it takes 4-4.5 hours depending which one you take. views along the coastal road a re pretty breathtaking. enjoy your trip - croatia is wonderful
