Hello - we have booked a sailing holiday starting out from Dubrovnik next Sunday 28th Sept, for a week. The weather stats say average of 20 deg, but we are just not sure what type of clothes to take as these temps are such a vague guide. Do you think we will really need wet weather gear i.e. brolly, waterproofs, fleece clothing/long trousers etc., (hot water bottle!!) or is it likely to be shorts %26amp; tee shirts and light jumpers at this time of year? / early October. Can%26#39;t really pack two extremes of clothes, but a guide from someone who has been recently or has been in early October, would be really helpful. Any advice appreciated. Thanks,

It%26#39;s not cold in Croatia in October but it%26#39;s always better to have a jacket or a pullover especially in the evening. Waterproofs and long trousers are ok. Shorts I don%26#39;t think so. You can always wear t-shirt under something warmer and take it off if you don%26#39;t need it. Along the coast there is always a breeze and somethimes it can be windy. It%26#39;s better to have the things to take off, than not have it and freeze.

the weather has changed drasticaly in a minute , last week it was terrible hot - this week heaters need to be ON in the house , a cold bura bringing
cold winds from the alps lasted about five days .
sea temperature has dropped from 25 to 19 in just few days , who knows what october will be like ?

Just back from Dubrovnik. It can be 25 degrees but the wind is really cold, so it%26#39;s kinda hit and miss, there is a fair bit of icy wind on the water, I think one warm fleece would do but I do have to add when it rains it is monsoon like, so be warned! I was out on a boat and it was freezing , then suddendenly the wind dies and its really warm again! The sea is still warm enough to swim, it was like swiming in a bath to me! So a few long sleved tees should cover alot of ground, I felt 20degrees was warm enough for a shorts and hoody combo out on a boat :)

Thank you very much for the updates and for taking the time to reply, I now have a much better idea! I only booked this holiday last weekend - as we have become desperate to get out of this endless rain! I think then, my fleece and a waterproof, then some spring/autumn clothes rather than outright summer ones is prob going to be the way to go. Really helpful, thank you all. Kind regards, Gail
