we will be in rovinj for one day on a cruise and are interested in going truffle hunting. is it worth the time and does anyone have a suggestion for a guide. thanks

Truffle hunting is fantastic but only if you are truffle lovers - others may find it tedious. We%26#39;ve only gone at night (with a guy who had never done it before). It was all kept hush-hush and secretive, of course. We loved it but then are really, really into truffles and food.
It really is an experience of a lifetime! When we went the dogs found 16 sellable truffles in 3 hours if I recall.
We found someone who knew someone who knew someone else who knew the guy who agreed to take us. We had to meet in a dark rural location where he took us away in his own vehicle. Sometimes you can even be blindfolded to protect the location%26#39;s identity.
