Save our knees

We are 4 reasonably fit ladies except for one of us who has knee problems. We would therefore look for s/c apartment near the old town but without too much climbing. Would we be better staying a little way out of the old town? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I just returned from Dubrovnik and stayed within the city walls near the very top. Great view but lots of walking. One area we liked is near a resturant called Orhan that overlooks a beautiful cove that is just outside the main gate but secluded. There are a few steps to get to the area, but it is very close to old town and also the main bus stop. I know there are several sobes that are in that area, but do not know the names. I would suggest you pick up a copy of Rick Steves Croatia book, my wife and I used this and found it helpful. I

think he gives you some names for this area. Also Orhan was one of our favorite spots. Have fun!
